Terms & Content Policy
The short version
This is a free, just-for-fun site where anyone can bury a dream, goal, or abandoned project as a tombstone. Be a decent person about it. What you write is yours, but you’re the one responsible for it — not this site.
Whose content is this?
You keep whatever rights you have to what you write. By posting a grave, you give this site permission to display it publicly, on its own page, indefinitely — that’s the whole point of a shareable tombstone. This site doesn’t claim ownership of what you write, and doesn’t review, endorse, or vouch for any grave’s content before it’s published.
Don’t bury this
Please don’t post anything that:
- is illegal where you or the site’s visitors are located
- harasses, threatens, or reveals private information about a real person
- is hate speech, or targets someone for who they are
- is spam, a scam, or a link to malware/phishing
- infringes someone else’s copyright or trademark
- falsely claims that a real, living person has died. Jokes about fictional characters, brands, institutions, or your own life are the whole point of this site — death-hoax misinformation about an actual person is not
Removal & reports
Graves that break the rules above get removed, no notice required. Every grave page has a “🚩 Report this grave” link at the bottom — use it to flag anything that shouldn’t be here, and it’ll be reviewed.
Privacy
There are no user accounts and no login for visitors. This site doesn’t set a visitor identifier or a candle cookie, and it doesn’t track which graves you’ve visited or which candles you’ve lit.
- A grave’s content (title, epitaph, author) is stored because you explicitly publish it.
- Reports are stored so they can be reviewed for moderation.
- Your IP address is used briefly to rate-limit requests and prevent abuse — it isn’t stored permanently.
- A signed session cookie is used only for the site owner’s admin login — regular visitors never receive it.
This doesn’t mean zero technical data is ever processed — the hosting, database, and rate-limiting infrastructure this site runs on (Vercel, Postgres, Redis) may process request metadata as part of normal operation.
No warranty
This site is provided as-is, for free, with no guarantees it’ll stay up, stay accurate, or stay exactly like this. It’s not liable for anything a visitor posts, or for any damages arising from using it.
